The coming about
Throughout this journey, we’ve taught ourselves to always think outside the box. After all, we’re here to challenge — and ultimately change — an industry. That won’t happen by staying within the lines.
With that mindset, the ambition to open our own creative space was born. A place to dive into the design process ourselves, do our own sampling, and not just tell our story — but show it.
We found this atelier just a stone’s throw away from one of our childhood homes. There’s a nostalgic feeling that this place found us just as much as we found it.
Since early 2025, we’ve been based here, slowly expanding our arsenal of machines for heritage denim production. Getting them here hasn’t always been easy. Let us tell you about that story.
Built on trial and error

The Build-Up
The hunt for these machines actually started long before the idea of this atelier.
In early 2023, when we started DIMI, we searched every corner of the country for a production partner for our first run. But every atelier was missing one crucial piece: the felled seam machine.
This machine creates a seam that arguably contributes the most to the construction and durability of our jeans. So, we decided to get our own.
Before we knew it, we were standing in a nearby village with a borrowed van — and fifteen minutes later, we were driving off with a machine weighing over 100 kilos in the back. Honestly, neither of us had any clue what we were getting ourselves into.
That first machine ended up at The Sew Crew — and not long after, a second one followed.
Once we decided to go all-in and set up our own atelier, three more machines followed: another felled seam machine, a straight stitcher, and a locking machine.
And just like that, we were on our way — and finally starting to see the first fruits of our labor.
"Well, guess we're doing this."

THE UNFOLDING
There’s a quiet kind of joy in spending our days here — among heavy machines, half-finished samples, and the steady rhythm of progress. In this space, we get to truly embrace the creative process, solve things with our own hands, and inch closer each day to garments that feel as thoughtful as they are timeless.
The road ahead? Turning this place into a well-oiled atelier for future collections — and, in time, opening the doors to others who dare to dream of bold, local production.
